Gastroenterology-Inflammatory Bowel Diseases-Beaumont Hospital/Corewell Health

Beaumont Health seeks a highly skilled and compassionate physician with interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) clinical service, research, and education to join an established Gastroenterology Team at the Royal Oak campus, approximately 30 minutes outside Detroit. This large academic medical center with more than a thousand inpatient beds serves as a tertiary referral center for the geographical area. U.S News & World Report Hospitals ranking of 2021-2022 has named us # 1 in MI and # 24 in the nation in Gastroenterology and GI Surgery.

This position will be integral in developing advanced Gastroenterology services at Beaumont Health-Royal Oak, joining an established Hepatology/liver transplant and Advanced/interventional gastroenterology services, and in the process of recruiting a GI motility specialist.

The ideal candidate would have completed an additional year of IBD fellowship training or has expertise in caring for patients with IBD, beyond the standard 3-year Gastroenterology fellowship training. Physicians joining the Gastroenterology Team will also be appointed to the faculty of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of
Medicine.

Applicants must be board eligible/certified in Gastroenterology, able to obtain a Michigan medical license and meet hospital credentialing requirements. Interested candidates with all levels of clinical experience in IBD will be considered.

Responsibilities will include evaluation and management of patients with IBD, involvement in clinical trials as related to IBD, rounds on the hospital general gastroenterology consultation service with the gastroenterology fellows, inpatient consults on patients with IBD, teaching of gastroenterology fellows, residents, and medical students, involvement in colorectal tumor board, and direct engagement with referring providers, among other responsibilities.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
➠ BC/BE Gastroenterology Physician with a strong background or interest in medical student and resident teaching
