Traveling Gastroenterologist (CDCR)

We are looking for a Traveling Gastroenterologist to join our small team that services multiple locations in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR). This position requires a dynamic professional who is flexible and experienced in working in diverse environments.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical history and physical examinations
• Diagnose gastrointestinal diseases and conditions through appropriate tests and imaging
• Perform endoscopic procedures, including biopsies and polypectomies
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Provide education and support to patients regarding their conditions and treatment options
• Stay updated on advancements in gastroenterology practices and technologies

Qualifications:

• Board certification in Gastroenterology is required 
• Strong clinical expertise, with an emphasis on gastrointestinal procedures (Colonoscopies, EGDs)
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Able to complete Live Scan and State Wide Gate Clearance to qualify for position

Skills:

• Proficient in medical terminology related to gastroenterology and related fields
• Strong understanding of medical imaging techniques relevant to gastrointestinal diagnostics
• Experience with suture techniques for minor surgical procedures
• Knowledge of addiction medicine as it relates to gastrointestinal health
