Position overview
Position title: General GI, Advanced Endo or GI Motility
Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $90,700 - $400,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position description
The Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is actively recruiting clinically-oriented academic gastroenterologists specializing in motility in the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology.
The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is ranked number 1 in research and teaching among global universities and ranked number 26 in clinical care by the US World News.
The successful candidates will conduct clinical gastroenterology patient care in the field of motility with areas of focus in esophageal motility disorders, gastric and intestinal motility disorders and/or pelvic floor disorders. The successful candidates will also serve as important teaching faculty to the trainees in the advanced esophageal preceptorship program as well as general gastroenterology fellowship program.
The successful candidates will be encouraged to get involved in various sub-sections within the division including active learning and in divisional and departmental activities.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Candidates must have a MD or equivalent, MD/PhD, or PhD in Gastroenterology or related fields.
Candidates with a MD or equivalent with clinical duties must be Board eligible or Board certified in Gastroenterology.
Candidates with a MD or equivalent with clinical duties must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
Candidates with a MD or equivalent with clinical duties must also have completed an advanced motility fellowship or dedicated motility training during fellowship or prior experience as a motility physician by the time of start of the appointment.
Preferred qualifications
Candidates that have completed GI fellowship training are preferred.
